Upstairs
The main house has two double bedrooms, one single bedroom (all with an outlook over the valley) and another room at the back of the house called the ‘Dormitory'. This contains a double bed, a pair of bunk beds and two single beds. It looks east and gets the morning sun.
There is a separate WC on the landing.
The bathroom has a double Jacuzzi spa bath, separate large shower, washbasin and a wood burning stove providing warmth and comfort. Behind the bathroom is a room in which there is a double bed, but is used as a fitness room with a rowing machine . Off this room is the sauna.
The Sauna is a great place to relax, unwind and switch-off. It looks out up the fields so you can watch the sheep whilst relaxing!
Downstairs
Downstairs there is a partially oak paneled dining room, comfortable lounge with a wood burner and a wood paneled Snug room in which there is an old concert piano. The dining room and Snug have open fires.
There is a laundry near the back door housing washing machine and drier. The back door leads out to another WC and then out onto the vegetable garden.
From the Snug, a door leads into the old back kitchen with the old bread oven. There is an extra fridge freezer here and ample storage space for food etc.
The old back kitchen leads into the wonderful vaulted barn kitchen, which looks into the courtyard. For cooking there is a four door Aga with an electric hob. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, large American style refrigerator, microwave, bread maker, food processor and ample cooking utensils. There are good-sized granite worktop areas and a large farmhouse kitchen table.
From the kitchen, stone stairs lead up to an oak-floored lounge with a wide screen TV and video facilities, with two comfortable settees. This room looks out onto the pool area and west up the valley. Leading off this sitting room is the large barn bedroom with a double bed and a separate double bed settee. There is an en suite shower and WC.
Gardens, Games and Swimming Pool
The house is surrounded by garden with lawn at the front for badminton and croquet, a vegetable plot to one side and behind the barn is the heated outdoor swimming pool with an area to play French boule and an area for outside dining. This is on the west side of the house and catches all the afternoon and evening sun. There is also a small wooded area with a stream running through.
There are also various board games in the cupboard , large basket of lego and a large selection of videos ( childrens and adults) available in the oak lounge. There is a snooker table, which can be set up on the dining room table.
Courtyard Parking
The courtyard in front of the barn kitchen provides parking for at least four cars.
Rules
There is no phone. Smoking is not allowed in the house.
Pets allowed with prior arrangement. Great care MUST be taken with dogs due to the close proximity of livestock.
